James Davenport: What else but https://www.goosebumps.com ? The way I am an annoying prick about Dark Souls today, I was an annoying prick about Goosebumps as a 10-year-old. It's no secret that there's a component shortage ravaging the PC building market, with demand exceeding supply by a long shot due to a boatload of depressing factors I'm not going to get into here. Currently, thanks to this fact, there's a less-than-useful PC sitting in my cupboard, with a great big hole where the GPU used to be. My partner, the cheeky bastard, having sold his Nvidia GTX 980 Ti for some spare dollar, decided to 'borrow' my GTX 1080 Ti (for science). I'm now faced with the harsh reality that once my RTX 2070 Super test rig is ripped away from me and sent back into the office, I'll be left totally GPU-less. I'm sure many of you are in a similar position—trying to acquire a new graphics card at a time where that feels almost impossible. Seems like game streaming services could be the best way to get us through. So, can I replace my physical gaming rig with one in the cloud until I'm able to buy a new graphics card? Apparently, yes! Sure, I'd love to spend my … [Read more...] about How to get into PC gaming without actually having a PC
WePlay Esports--fresh off of the first and potentially only season of its Ultimate Fighting League--has lost the support of both major developers featured in that first season. Both Mortal Kombat 11 developer NetherRealm Studios and Tekken 7/SoulCalibur VI publisher Bandai Namco have announced they will no longer be working with WePlay, weeks after the first season of the WUFL featured all three of the games. Both developers cite "differences in vision" in their official tweets regarding the move. pic.twitter.com/ckWZZ2fZuC — NetherRealm (@NetherRealm) April 30, 2021 The controversy appears to stem from WePlay's recent partnership with Russian online betting firm 1XBet, which faced heavy criticism after a 2019 report by British publication The Times . The Times report revealed 1XBet's seedier deals, including the promotion of a "pornhub casino"--a casino that uses topless dealers to attract gamblers--as well as allowing "bets on children’s sports and advertising … [Read more...] about WePlay Esports League Loses Mortal Kombat, SoulCalibur Dev Support After Sponsor Controversy
Good news, Google Stadia users: If you're trying to search for your favorite games on the platform's web store, you can do that now. That's right, the billion-dollar tech company that became a tech titan through its mastery of search results somehow didn't include a search bar on its online games store. Needless to say, this inspired some negative reactions from notable gaming personalities. "Google is literally a search bar company," Noclip founder (and former GameSpot host) Danny O'Dwyer correctly pointed out . "It's great that after almost 1.5 years hiring and laying off entire games studios and generally squandering their early launch advantage, the massive corporation entirely built around Search has integrated a Search [bar] into its service," Vlambeer co-founder Rami Ismail said. Good news - a search bar is now rolling out to the #Stadia store. Get a sneak peek into the next features coming to Stadia in today's blog. https://t.co/G5njP5PZFm … [Read more...] about Google Stadia Store Has A Search Bar Now, Which It Somehow Didn’t Have Before
We’ve now got our first look at Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon – thanks to a series of set photos. The images, which you can see below, show Matt Smith donning a platinum blonde wig for his portrayal as Daemon Targaryen. Alongside Smith is his on-screen wife (and niece, because this is Westeros), Rhaenyra Targaryen – played by Emma D’Arcy. Both Smith and D’Arcy are seen looking out onto the windswept beach as they share a scene together, Smith in a black garb and sporting a Geralt-like wig; D’Arcy in a more royal red dress. On the more official side of things, HBO has revealed a look at the cast together for a table read in a recent post … [Read more...] about House of the Dragon set photos show Matt Smith in his Targaryen costume for the Game of Thrones prequel
