If you were one of the every person on the planet who didn’t pick up Dark Void Zero for DSi, it looks like you’ve been granted a second opportunity to download this surprisingly excellent, hard-as-balls, old-school side-scroller. Assuming you have an iPhone or Steam-equipped PC, you can grab it next Monday at the low, low price of $2.99 for iPhones and $5 for PC. Above: How awesome is this screen? Very The game itself is an 8-bit retro style prequel to the not-so-successful original game, Dark Void, which was released to ho-hum reviews on Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC earlier this year. Players will take the role of Rusty – the first human born in The Void. The game offers around two hours of playtime with Rusty utilizing Nikolai Tesla’s jetpack to navigate 2D platforms and shoot things. And it’s legitimately good, retro-style fun in the vein of Bionic Commando or Contra – if they had a jet pack. Apr 7, 2010 … [Read more...] about Dark Void Zero announced for iPhone and PC

Netflix Exec Thinks Exclusive Theatrical Release Windows Will Go Away
Netflix product chief Greg Peters, who also became the streaming service's chief operating officer in 2020, says the company is poised to help lead the charge for further eroding theatrical windows preceding streaming debuts for content. Speaking with Deadline , Peters predicted, "It's what consumers want. It's hard to buck that trend for too long and I think that's eventually where things go." In December when competitor Warner Bros. announced it intended to put its entire theatrical line-up onto streaming services such as HBO Max, production companies, directors, and actors were predictably not pleased . It was also not exactly a shock to learn that Warner was reportedly trying to offset that surprising move by offering bonuses to stars impacted by the move to streaming-only releases-- one report had Denzel Washington receiving $20 million plus a backend fee , for example. In an interview, veteran director Christopher Nolan summed his feelings up bluntly, … [Read more...] about Netflix Exec Thinks Exclusive Theatrical Release Windows Will Go Away

It's World Book Day! And while we mainly do our work via video games, we're relatively sure that most of the staff can read. Probably? Actually, maybe best not to ask. Still, we know at least some of them can, as we amassed a whole range of recommendations on what the Eurogamer crew is reading outside of work. This monster PC case could be the most extra chassis ever
Image 1 of 6 Image 2 of 6 Image 3 of 6 Image 4 of 6 Image 5 of 6 Image 6 of 6 The Azza Overdrive is either one of the coolest cases I've ever laid eyes on or it's an absolute atrocity that shouldn't exist. I feel it may be both. I'd love to use it for the basis of some hard-tube monster, but at the same time, it looks massive and I absolutely don't have room for such a chonky bad boy on my desk. At least not and have space for a gaming monitor at the same time. Maybe I'm just meant to stare at it, and screw my monitor to the wall behind it, out of the way, so as not to distract from how awesome it is. If it isn't obvious from the picture, this is an open case like a test bench but with extra steps. The power supply goes at the bottom of the unit, with the E-ATX motherboard tray living above it. There's space for a reservoir pump in the middle for those custom water-cooled builds as well. There's room for two 360mm radiators on either side of the main … [Read more...] about This monster PC case could be the most extra chassis ever
Mortal Kombat movie: Shang Tsung powers up in this exclusive new image
"There’s a lot of fighting in the film," Mortal Kombat movie director Simon McQuoid promises. And you would certainly hope he's right – this, after all, is an adaptation of one of the most famous fighting video game series of all time. Unlike the last Mortal Kombat movie, though, this one promises bloody fatalities aplenty. "Some fights are big, some are small, but my main goal was to make the fights mean something," McQuoid tells Total Film . "I wanted the fights to look and feel like they didn’t just sort of pop out of the story and then come back in. "I didn’t want anything generic. I didn’t want anything that you could see in any action movie. The stunt team on this were just amazing, and they designed some pretty fucking incredible things.” Above you can see an exclusive image from the new Mortal Kombat movie. It features Chin Han (Ghost in the Shell, Marco Polo, The Dark Knight) as the villain Shang Tsung, who was famously played by Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa in the 1995 … [Read more...] about Mortal Kombat movie: Shang Tsung powers up in this exclusive new image
