Bungie’s Trademark For “BungieCon” Has Resurfaced

A trademark that Bungie originally filed in 2020 is making the rounds again this week, prompting speculation that the Destiny studio may have plans for its own convention. Bungie's trademark for "BungieCon," which was originally filed in summer 2020 , covers all manner of products, including jewellery, trading cards, pants, and boots, along with something more befitting its name. The Goods & Services description states that BungieCon could apply to the "organizing and conducting [of] fan conventions in the fields of video and computer games." The connection people are making here is that Bungie has plans to hold its own fan convention. This potential idea is further bolstered by the news back in 2017 that Bungie had trademarked "DestinyCon." If Bungie is indeed planning a fan convention, that might explain the other Goods & Services descriptions for things like jewellery, trading cards, and clothing. It's not uncommon for those types of things to be sold at a … [Read more...] about Bungie’s Trademark For “BungieCon” Has Resurfaced

Outriders dev explains all those pesky loading cutscenes

If you've been playing the Outriders demo since it came out last week, you may have picked up on an annoyance: loading cutscenes. The third-person looter shooter game from People Can Fly (Bulletstorm, Gears of War: Judgment) plays a short cutscene whenever you want to move to a new area. These cutscenes show everything from a character opening a door to climbing a ledge. They include a full fade to black opening before playing the cutscene, then another fade to black before you get back into the action. These cutscenes sometimes border on the hilarious. One I noticed while playing saw my character perform a dramatic jump across a broken bridge: Not sure I need a cutscene for that jump, Outriders pic.twitter.com/djZ25EyHhO — Wesley Yin-Poole (@wyp100) February 28, 2021 This content is hosted on an external platform, which will only display it if you accept targeting cookies. All of MSI’s Z490 motherboards are gaining PCIe 4.0 support with Rocket Lake

Intel Rocket Lake is coming into orbit and will touch down at the end of the month, bringing with it improved performance and support for PCI Express 4.0. To take advantage of the latter, you won't necessarily need a new motherboard. MSI, for example, has confirmed that its full stack of Z490 motherboards will be getting PCIe 4.0 support with Intel's 11th Gen Rocket Lake chips. The minor caveat is that you will need to update the BIOS to unlock PCIe 4.0. That's not a big deal if you're aiming to replace your Comet Lake CPU with an 11th Gen Core desktop processor without also upgrading your motherboard, because you would need to update the BIOS anyway. "To be PCIe 4.0 compatible, several components on the motherboards are necessary, including PCIe 4.0 ready clock generator, lane switch, redriver, PCIe slots, and M.2 connectors. Thanks to the complete PCIe 4.0 solutions, MSI Z490 motherboards provide the most stable design for PCIe 4.0 and unlock the full performance of PCIe 4.0 … [Read more...] about All of MSI’s Z490 motherboards are gaining PCIe 4.0 support with Rocket Lake

Here are the classes losing the most with Hearthstone’s Core Set changes

The Year of the Gryphon looks set to be a helluva time for Hearthstone players, kicking off with some of the biggest changes ever to happen to the game landing simultaneously. We're just weeks away from the first expansion of 2021 , and the current format that we've grown accustomed to over the past seven years is about to ripped up and reformed. When that happens, the Standard mode will include the new (and free) Core set, Year of the Phoenix expansions, plus this year's upcoming expansions. Meanwhile. Wild will gain the Legacy set (Basic and Classic, some of which have been un-nerfed, and the Hall of Fame cards), as well as all the other cards from old expansions and adventures. You can see exactly which 235 cards comprise the Core set here . It's a mix of returning favourites from Wild, some entirely new designs, and old Basic and Classic cards which survived the cut—in some cases they've even been buffed. That means we have some tough goodbyes ahead of us when … [Read more...] about Here are the classes losing the most with Hearthstone’s Core Set changes

Godzilla and Kong face off in these exclusive images from the MonsterVerse clash

When it comes to crossover grudge matches, they literally don’t come much bigger than Godzilla vs. Kong. The latest in the MonsterVerse franchise sees the two iconic Titans going head-to-head and duking it out for supremacy, in a culmination of the events that have been building since 2014’s Godzilla reboot, and the Vietnam-era Kong: Skull Island . Directed by Adam Wingard (You’re Next, The Guest), Godzilla vs. Kong is one of the first new blockbusters to emerge that wasn’t advertised before the pandemic, and it arrives in US cinemas and on HBO Max at the end of this month (with a UK date to be determined). Below, you can see exclusive new images from the film courtesy of our sister publication Total Film magazine , which features Godzilla vs. Kong on its upcoming cover. As well as two shots of the creatures battling it out, there’s also a new look at human characters Madison (Millie Bobby Brown, returning from King of the Monsters), Josh (Julian Dennison), and Bernie … [Read more...] about Godzilla and Kong face off in these exclusive images from the MonsterVerse clash
