10 Missing Animal Crossing characters that deserve to arrive in New Horizons

The Animal Crossing series has been going strong for almost 20 years, so it's no surprise that we've seen plenty of characters come and go between each instalment. But, that doesn't stop us hoping to see some of the missing Animal Crossing characters make their way to Animal Crossing: New Horizons . Nintendo has steadily begun reintroducing characters into Animal Crossing: New Horizons since its release in March 2020, but so far the only iconic characters that have resurfaced from the older titles include: Tom Nook, the Able Sisters, Isabelle, Timmy and Tommy, Blathers, Celeste, Kicks, and thanks to a few post-launch updates: Redd, Jack, and now Pavé who was recently announced as part of the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Festivale event. Animal Crossing: New Horizons – 10 things you (probably) didn’t know you could do on your island

Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been out for almost a year now, but the delightful adventure filled with fuzzy-friends continues to surprise players. One of the best things about Tom Nook's gateway package is the freedom it offers you to explore and develop your very own sandy shores. Nook might give you a little bit of guidance to begin with, but for the most part, it's left up to you to uncover all that your island has to offer you. Since Animal Crossing: New Horizons leaves you to your own devices, Islanders continue to make new discoveries all the time. Whether you're a longtime island-dweller or a new resident, here are things you can do in Animal Crossing: New Horizons that you (probably) didn't know you could. Trying to build a perfect Snowboy? Let a Dung Beetle do it As you may already know if you've been diving into the wintry fun on your islands, building an Animal Crossing: New Horizons perfect Snowboy takes a bit of practice. Rolling snowballs to just the … [Read more...] about Animal Crossing: New Horizons – 10 things you (probably) didn’t know you could do on your island

Nintendo Explains How Animal Crossing’s Mario Warp Pipes Work

Animal Crossing: New Horizons' Mario update arrives tomorrow, February 25, and it adds a line of Mushroom Kingdom furniture and clothing to the Switch life sim. The most intriguing addition for many players is undoubtedly the warp pipe, which lets you quickly travel between two points around your island, and now Nintendo has shared some more details on how this works. As the company first revealed during the February 2021 Nintendo Direct, you can purchase a pair of warp pipes from Nook Shopping once the Mushroom Kingdom items go on sale and place them at two different points around your island. Once the two pipes are set, you can hop into one to travel between the two locations quickly. This works even if one of the warp pipes is placed inside your house. If you have more than two pipes placed around your island, your warp location will be chosen randomly. Nintendo says you'll also need to ensure that the pipes have enough landing space around them before you can use them. … [Read more...] about Nintendo Explains How Animal Crossing’s Mario Warp Pipes Work

GamesMaster: The Inside Story

Every Sunday we present an article from our archives, either for you to discover for the first time or to get reacquainted with. This week, to mark the departure of the amazing Ellie Gibson from the Eurogamer editorial team, we give you her inside look at 90s favourite GamesMaster, an article typical of her incredible writing talents. We're going to miss you Ellie! Craig Munro's 10-year-old heart was pounding in his chest. The unfamiliar controller trembled in his sweaty grip. He stared wide-eyed at the screen, too nervous to blink, too terrified to breathe. Beside him his elder sister, Kirsty, hammered the buttons on her own controller like a rabid pianist. Craig watched the numbers tick up: 2, 3, 4...He thought of the letter that had brought him to this moment. The one he had written several months ago to the producers of GamesMaster, his favourite television show. "I drew an illustration of some guy from Nintendo World Cup on the NES scoring a goal," the adult Craig remembers today. … [Read more...] about GamesMaster: The Inside Story

Kung fu, injuries and delays: Catching up with Biomutant

There's something very Saturday morning about Biomutant that has always really appealed to me. Where other open-world games can be grim, this is exuberantly colourful; where other games can be bogged down in grit, this is light and full of energy. It looks like a child's imagination exploded all over the screen. Mutated animals tear about, kung-fuing gigantic monsters with three heads, which are also adorable, and there are outlandish contraptions, DIY guns and vehicles to use. There's one vehicle that looks like a hand and moves around like Thing from The Addams Family, and finger-guns enemies dead. There are others that fly through the air or speed across the water, as you whizz around over-saturated and kaleidoscopically vibrant worlds. That's not to say I ever thought Biomutant would change the world. I never really thought of it as a blockbuster. But does everything have to be? They can be so timid. This feels reckless, charming, and it abounds with a kind of breeziness I am totally … [Read more...] about Kung fu, injuries and delays: Catching up with Biomutant
