The Presage Exotic mission in Destiny 2 sends you to a derelict Cabal ship to uncover what happened to its crew--and a fellow Guardian. A Seasonal Challenge, Captain's Log, requires you to locate and scan five different objects scattered throughout the ship, all of which reveal more of the Glykon's story. There are even more scannable items once you find the first batch, which can unlock two more Triumphs and earn you an Exotic Ghost shell. Use this guide to help you find them all and start to unravel all the secrets of Presage and its derelict ship. Because the Glykon, the ship where Presage takes place, is so twisting and huge, it can be very easy to miss the objects you're looking for and the story that goes with them. As you unlock each batch of scannable objects and the Triumph that goes with it, a new set will become available, so expect to run through Presage at least three times to get them all. Make sure to check out the rest of our guides for the Season of the Chosen … [Read more...] about Destiny 2 Presage Captain’s Log Guide: All Scan Objects For The Seasonal Challenge And Ghost Shell

Paper Mario Speedrunner Skips Straight To Credits With Help From Ocarina Of Time
A Paper Mario speedrunner named JCog has now beaten the game in less than an hour via a new strategy that requires the use of an entirely different game cartridge: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time . The runner managed this feat on only his second formal attempt, though he streamed for several hours beforehand practicing the strategy. JCog's time of 54:22 would be a new "any-percent" world record for the game. However, it's not likely to top the official Speedrun.com leaderboards anytime soon, though it may become its own category extension. That's because the strategy requires memory manipulation through the use of a Japanese Ocarina of Time cartridge, which is usually not allowed in vanilla speedruns. As JCog explains in a lengthy Pastebin , the runner uses a series of exploits across both games that allow you to execute save file names as code. These exploits were discovered and developed by several people in the Paper Mario speedrunning community, including Rain, … [Read more...] about Paper Mario Speedrunner Skips Straight To Credits With Help From Ocarina Of Time
Date set for Apple v Epic Games trial
The battle between Epic Games and Apple over in-game microtransactions is still rumbling on, and after months of arguing it seems a date has finally been set for an in-person trial. Yep, it seems this one is going all the way. Yesterday a management conference was held in the US District Court for the Northern District of California, in which judge Yvonne Gonzalez organised a bench trial between Epic Games and Apple (as reported by MacRumors ). A date has now been officially set for 3rd May, which will require witnesses to travel to Northern California to appear at court in person. The reason for the physical trial is that judge Gonzalez feels the case is serious enough that it should be heard in person, and believes witnesses are less likely to lie when being sworn in a courtroom. Those required to travel will apparently be given the resources to quarantine for two weeks after the trial, while other Covid safety measures will also be taken, such as limited numbers of people in … [Read more...] about Date set for Apple v Epic Games trial
Paper Mario speedrunner uses an Ocarina of Time glitch to set a new record
A new Paper Mario speedrun world record has been reached, and it's all thanks to The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Don't worry, it will make sense in a minute. Speedrunner JCog posted the new 54 minute and 22-second record video along with an explanation of what the hell is happening on Pastebin . Here's the basic setup: speedrunners recently discovered a glitch that would let them overwrite parts of Paper Mario's game code as it ran, enabling what the community calls arbitrary code execution or ACE. Unfortunately, accessing that glitch with just a copy of Paper Mario and your controller requires impossibly precise inputs. It turns out there's another way, thanks to a previously known Ocarina of Time glitch and the magic of the Nintendo 64 Expansion Pak. Here's the top-level explanation from JCOG: "We're using ACE in OoT to write code to memory that we can reach with a glitch in Paper Mario after quickly swapping cartridges, and then that code lets us write more … [Read more...] about Paper Mario speedrunner uses an Ocarina of Time glitch to set a new record
