Below finally has a release date

December 5, 2018 by eurogamer Leave a Comment

Below, the long-in-development dungeon crawler from Canadian indie studio Capybara, finally has a release date, and it's very soon. The game will be released on Xbox One and PC (on Steam) in just over a week's time, on Friday 14th December.Below was first revealed during Microsoft's E3 2013 press conference and has been delayed multiple times, at one point indefinitely. I personally last saw it at GDC in 2016, over two and a half years ago. The game looked good and Capy boss Nathan Vella seemed upbeat. But it was later that year that it was delayed with no new launch window, and everything went quiet.Below resurfaced at GDC this year, promising a 2018 release. Wes spoke with Vella around that time and he was, mostly, still upbeat.I met Vella again in a London hotel room last week, where he showed me a near-final build of the game and told me that he would be able to keep his word: Below would make it out in 2018 - just. Vella, tall and genial, looked tired - though that might just have … [Read more...] about Below finally has a release date

October 31, 2018 by dualshockers Leave a Comment

Sega made a surprise announcement back on October 29th: Sega Ages Phantasy Star for Switch launches in Japan on October 31st. The game was initially supposed to come out on September 20th along with Sega Ages Sonic the Hedgehog and Sega Ages Thunder Force IV. To celebrate the game’s release, Japanese news site Game Watch published on October 31st an extremely long interview with the key developers of the game: developing studio M2’s CEO Naoki Horii, Sega producer Kagasei Shimomura and director Rieko Kodama. Kodama-san, also known as Phoenix Rie, used to work as an art designer on the Phantasy Star games, and later on, ended up directing Phantasy Star IV: The End of the Millennium. She participated in many other games over the years. She was, for example, the producer of Skies of Arcadia. In short, she’s one of the best game developers of all time. The interview deals with Phantasy Star’s development, (both the Switch version and the … [Read more...] about Interview Reveals Phantasy Star for Switch Comes West on November 15th, Sega Developers War Stories

Now TV finally adds Netflix app – and reveals new £45 4K streaming box

September 26, 2018 by thesun Leave a Comment

NOW TV customers rejoice! You can finally watch Netflix using a Now TV box or streaming stick. The feature, which goes live today, was announced alongside a brand new streaming box that can push out 4K telly – a first for Now TV. One of the biggest failings of Now TV was its lack of Netflix, one of the most popular streaming services in the world. Earlier this month, Now TV's parent firm Sky announced it would be adding Netflix to Sky Q from November. But it seems Now TV has even beaten Sky to the punch, adding Netflix from today for all customers. All you need to do is sign in (or sign up) to a Netflix account using your Now TV device, and all your usual content will be available. Netflix lives alongside all the other standard Now TV apps, like BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All 4, Demand 5, Red Bull TV and YouTube. You also still get access to the Sky Store, where you can buy premium content to watch whenever you like. If you buy a new Now TV box, it will come with Netflix as standard. … [Read more...] about Now TV finally adds Netflix app – and reveals new £45 4K streaming box

April 24, 2018 by gamesradar Leave a Comment

Even as Bungie tries to stow away more secrets for intrepid Destiny 2 explorers, it couldn't help but share a bunch of details in the reveal stream for the Warmind expansion. Developers dished on new story events, modes, Crucible changes, and some very promising sounding exotic re-works, all headed to the game when Warmind arrives on May 8. I've embedded the stream archive below if you want to take it all in, but keep scrolling to see five of the biggest things you need to know about.Private matches and Crucible tweaksThe good news is that private matches are finally coming to Destiny 2 (and you won't need to own Warmind to create and/or participate in them, just to queue up any expansion maps). The bad news is that now you'll finally have to make good on all those idle "I'd totally beat that asshole in a 1v1" threats you've been making since September. Better start practicing now.The rest of the Crucible is getting some changes too: Quickplay and Competitive will both get their own … [Read more...] about 5 things you need to know from Destiny 2: Warmind’s reveal stream
