The upcoming horror sequel The Forever Purge will be with us a week earlier than scheduled. As reported by Deadline , the latest movie in the hit franchise will now hit theaters on July 2. Universal has moved The Forever Purge forward a week following Paramount's decision to shift Top Gun: Maverick from July 2 back to November. The Forever Purge was previously due to arrive on July 9, the same day as Marvel's Black Widow. The Forever Purge is the fifth movie in the Purge series, and stars Ana de la Reguera, Josh Lucas, Tenoch Huerta, and Will Patton. It's directed by Everardo Gout, and written by franchise creator James DeMonaco. DeMonaco has previously announced that this will be the final Purge movie , but producer Jason Blum has stated that he hopes to talk him into writing some movies. Oscar-nominated actor Mark Wahlberg is known for his strict diet and exercise program, but he's throwing some of that out the window to prepare for his next movie role. He is playing Father Stuart Long, a boxer who became a priest. Wahlberg told Jimmy Kimmel that, once the boxing scenes are finished for the new movie, which is called Father Stu, he plans to gain 30 pounds in six weeks to portray Long. "After we do the boxing scenes, I get to put on as much weight as possible over the course of the film. I'm challenging myself to put on 30 pounds for the next six weeks," he said. Wahlberg, who earned an Academy Award nomination for The Departed, said he's working with a trainer to try to put on the weight in a healthy way. We know that Vive intends to launch a new VR headset, and relatively soon by the looks of its recent social media teaser, but we've no official release date yet.
