The first trailer for Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead is here. The highly anticipated zombie action movie will be released by Netflix on May 21. The promo is fairly short and focuses more on action and striking imagery than plot or characters. The movie centers on a group of mercenaries who team up to raid a casino in Las Vegas during a zombie apocalypse, and there's lots of footage of Vegas being overrun by the undead. There's also brief shots of some of the cast, including Dave Bautista and Omari Hardwick, and an appearance from a zombie Elvis. Check it out below: Army of the Dead also stars Ella Purnell, Ana de la Reguera, Garret Dillahunt, Theo Rossi, and Tig Notaro. It's directed and co-written by Snyder, who previously stated that he started writing it back in 2004, shortly after he directed the remake of the zombie classic Dawn of the Dead. However, it spent many years trapped in development before Netflix stepped in to finance it. There's also an animated spin-off … [Read more...] about Netflix’s Army Of The Dead Gets First Trailer Featuring Vegas Mayhem And Zombie Elvis

Inside Gary Frank & Geoff Johns’ Geiger, from the Atomic Cowboy to the plans for a broader creator-owned universe
For the past 19 years, Gary Frank has been working on the biggest heroes that DC and Marvel have. But now it's time for a change, and he's doing that with his long-time collaborator and friend, writer Geoff Johns. On April 7, Frank returns to Image Comics with Geiger #1 - the first in a six-issue series about a man who survived a nuclear war and is out to do what any good father would: protect his family. Even when his Las Vegas looks even more dangerous than that of Fallout: New Vegas. This story of the man Frank and Johns originally nicknamed the 'Atomic Cowboy' is the first in what they hope is a broader creator-owned world for the two of them. But first, Geiger. Newsarama spoke with Frank about pivoting back to creator-owned work following such high-profile work as Doomsday Clock and Batman: Earth One , his creative dynamic with Johns, and what plans the two of them have after this six-issue series. Zack Snyder’s Army Of The Dead Trailer Delivers Wild Action And Zombie Tigers
The new trailer for Army of the Dead has been released. The zombie action movie is directed by Zack Snyder and it hits Netflix on May 21. February's first Army of the Dead teaser was packed with cool imagery but didn't contain much in the way of plot or dialogue. However, this one focuses more on the storyline. Dave Bautista plays a former soldier who is hired to assemble a crew to perform a safe heist on a Las Vegas casino. The big problem is that this all takes place after a zombie apocalypse, so the team must contend with thousands of ravenous undead roaming the streets of Vegas. These aren't all standard zombies either--Army of the Dead features highly-developed "organized" zombies who command the more brainless variety. Oh, and there's a zombie tiger in there too. Check the trailer out below: Army of the Dead also stars Ella Purnell, Ana de la Reguera, Garret Dillahunt, Omari Hardwick, Theo Rossi, and Tig Notaro. It's directed and co-written by Snyder, who started … [Read more...] about Zack Snyder’s Army Of The Dead Trailer Delivers Wild Action And Zombie Tigers
New Army of the Dead trailer introduces Zack Snyder’s greatest achievement: zombie tigers
How's your luck? The new trailer for Army of the Dead, directed by Zack Snyder, is here and – unfortunately for the motley crew (led by Dave Bautista) trying to pull of the heist of the century among the shambling undead – what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. The trailer sees Scott Ward (Bautista) flipping burgers in a greasy diner when presented with a tantalizing proposition: $50m to rob a vault. But there are a few roadblocks, namely a 32-hour time limit and the entire undead population of Las Vegas standing between Ward and his assembled crew (including the likes of Star Trek Discovery's Tig Notaro). But it's not going to be your usual zombie flick. The emphasis is very much on Army of the Dead being a heist movie: the hard-hitting action in the trailer sets off a powder-keg of sequences that culminates in the group coming face to face with a zombie tiger called Valentine. A zombie tiger . George Romero, eat your heart out. Army of the Dead is going to be the first … [Read more...] about New Army of the Dead trailer introduces Zack Snyder’s greatest achievement: zombie tigers
Zack Snyder says there’s no Army of the Dead director’s cut
By now, you've probably seen the official trailer for Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead, which gave us a better idea of what’s going down in this world of zombies. From the looks of the Dave Bautista-led action-horror set in a post-apocalyptic Las Vegas, it appears as though Snyder had a lot of fun filming the zombie-filled movie. Quite naturally after the Snyder Cut , the Justice League director was asked during an Army of the Dead roundtable if there was a director's cut of his upcoming film, and his response was no. "This was the most gratifying experience making this movie... This is the movie. There are no other cuts of the movie. I didn't have to fight them. It was the opposite. This is the director's cut, and you're going to see it first. You don't have to see the bastardized version first, there's just the awesome version." Snyder said in his full response. It's good to know Snyder didn't have to fight anyone about what to do with a script he wrote with Shay Hatten … [Read more...] about Zack Snyder says there’s no Army of the Dead director’s cut
