Apex Legends Chaos Theory Collection Event finally gives us a Bangalore Heirloom

Apex Legends Chaos Theory Collection Event will launch March 9, the same day the game drops on Nintendo Switch, and it's going to be quite the celebration. Check out the trailer above, and read on for more details on what this limited-time event will entail. This is a Collection Event, which means you've gotta collect - 24 themed, event-limited cosmetics to be exact. You can buy all 24 items with Apex Coins or Crafting Metals, or find them in Event Apex Packs which will be available for the entire event, which runs from March 9 to March 23. Collect all 24 items and you'll get the long-awaited Bangalore Heirloom, which is a pretty sick Pilot's knife. The Apex Legends Chaos Theory Collection Event will also introduce two new temporary takeovers: Caustic Town Takeover and Ring Fury Escalation Takeover. The Caustic Town Takeover turns the Water Treatment area on Kings Canyon into a noxious gas-filled deathtrap. Mirage Voyage has also disappeared (because Caustic killed the vibes) … [Read more...] about Apex Legends Chaos Theory Collection Event finally gives us a Bangalore Heirloom

PSVR showcases 6 new games with skiing action, frozen zombies, and more

We're still waiting to learn more about the PSVR PS5 version, but we just got a half dozen new games to look forward to for the one we already have. The PlayStation Blog just finished with a day-long PSVR Spotlight, showcasing six games headed to Sony's virtual reality headsets with new trailers and posts from the developers themselves. We already got a look at one of the titles with Doom 3 VR Edition coming to PSVR later this month , but here's everything Sony announced in the showcase. Doom 3: VR Edition Release date: March 29 Before we ripped and tore in the new Doom games, we RIP'ed in terror in Doom 3 - and now the horror is even more inescapable in VR. Doom 3 VR Edition is a full conversion of the original game and its two expansions to VR, making use of the Aim controller for more natural weapons handling (and yes, they do have attached flashlights now) while adding in some handy new features like 180 degree quick turns to give you slightly better … [Read more...] about PSVR showcases 6 new games with skiing action, frozen zombies, and more

No Man’s Sky: Origins introduces Sandworms, millions of new worlds, and a weirder universe than ever before to explore

No Man's Sky: Origins is set to go live today. It's perhaps the most impactful expansion the space sim has enjoyed since its launch, introducing a whole host of changes to the underlying procedural generation in an effort to breathe new life to its universe. Speaking of new life, there's one new creature arriving that many of you have been asking after for quite some time now: the Sandworm. The Sandworm infamously appeared in the 2013 reveal trailer , although it never materialised in the final game. Players spent years hunting it across a procedurally generated universe, with No Man's Sky director Sean Murray eventually confirming that the creature never made it to the live server shard because fleeing it was no fun at all. So, why the change of heart? "You know, we showed that in a trailer, like, three or four years before No Man's Sky came out. We were so naive then – so, so naive," says Murray. The No Man's Sky Sandworm reemerges I get the sense that Murray would love … [Read more...] about No Man’s Sky: Origins introduces Sandworms, millions of new worlds, and a weirder universe than ever before to explore

No Man’s Sky will have multiplayer crossplay when it drops on Xbox Game Pass

No Man's Sky is adding cross-platform multiplayer starting June 11, the same day the title goes live on Xbox and PC Game Pass. "Do you have a friend on another gaming system with whom you’ve always wanted to explore the great unknown? A legendary base you’ve seen videos of but never been able to visit? A mission that you think would be great to play with friends on other platforms?" blog post announcing the move. As GamesRadar previously reported , No Man's Sky (formerly a PlayStation console exclusive) is the June addition to Xbox Game Pass, which means it will be available for Windows 10 operating systems as well. With the added bonus of crossplay, players from all platforms can do some planet mining in tandem and alien riding. It's great to see how No Man's Sky has evolved as an IP since it launched in 2016. First it was just a PlayStation exclusive with a more traditional multiplayer construct. Then, it went to Xbox in 2018 and in 2019 the Beyond update … [Read more...] about No Man’s Sky will have multiplayer crossplay when it drops on Xbox Game Pass

Hello Games isn’t talking about its next game because of No Man’s Sky’s controversial launch

Hello Games founder Sean Murray says lessons were learned after the controversial launch of No Man's Sky back in 2016, and it's for that reason that we aren't hearing much about the studio's next game. No Man's Sky was first revealed in 2013 and managed to garner an unprecedented level of hype for an indie game in the three years until release. Of course, as Murray remembers all too well, that hype turned to disappointment for fans who found the vacuum of space a bit too... empty. It makes sense then that he'd prefer Hello Games not to reveal too much about its next project. "I mean, look, we have learned our lesson. We don't want to start talking about anything too early", Murray told IGN . "The only reason we talked at all about [our next game] was because we released our most recent game, Last Campfire, which was the first thing to come out since No Man's Sky. It's done by a separate team that we supported within the studio. But when we talk to press about it, a lot of … [Read more...] about Hello Games isn’t talking about its next game because of No Man’s Sky’s controversial launch
