We kinda had an inkling that Game of Thrones season 8 wouldn’t exactly end on a rousing, high note but still. Hannah Murray, better known as Gilly in the show, has revealed what’s to come in the final set of episodes – and it all sounds incredibly soul-crushing. Will anyone make it out in one piece?Speaking to Winter is Coming, everyone’s favourite Wildling-turned-Sam Tarly beloved has us all a little bit worried, as she described what could possibly be the nearest we’ve been given to having the show’s final moments described to us.“I knew to expect the unexpected,” Murray says. “Anything that felt too obvious to me I knew was not going to be what [happened]. So, there were certain things where I was like, ‘Well, it can’t be that but I don’t know what it is going to be.’ It’s not like a fairytale happy ending by any means at all.”Welp. Sure, it certainly chimes with Emilia Clarke feeling the worse … [Read more...] about “Expect the unexpected”: Game of Thrones season 8 won’t have a happy ending, says Gilly

Game of Thrones season 8
First, the bad news. Game of Thrones season 8 isn't getting a release date until 2019. So it's a long way away. Unless you're recapping season 7 you won't get your Jon and Daenerys fix until next year, see how the Iron Throne is claimed, or how humanity does - or doesn't - deal with the White Walker invasion. There are plenty of Game of Thrones season 8 theories to keep you busy, though, and it's fun to try and guess what'll happen in season 8. It's not all guesswork either - there have been plenty of news snippets, rumors, cast confirmations, and the odd social media leak. Sadly, and rather obviously, there has been no official trailer or footage releases yet.Below is every scrap of information we've gathered on the final season of the show. We may have left George RR Martin's books well behind by now, but there is still heaps of info and foreshadowing for us to work on. Over the months between now and its eventual air date, we'll gather everything there is to know about Game of … [Read more...] about Game of Thrones season 8
15 amazing fan theories for Game of Thrones season 8
Winter is over in the real world, but Game of Thrones season 7 has proved that, for Westeros, the icy season is definitely in full force. With Cersei double-crossing those fighting the White Walkers in the north (who, by the way, have a flippin’ dragon now), Daenerys and Jon finally having a steamy rendezvous, and Jaime fleeing from his megalomaniacal sister, the proverbial has well and truly hit the fan. Like Cersei you’ll probably want to get a strong glass of Dornish red to dull the pain when you realise that Game of Thrones season 8 is still a long way away, as it’s due to air in 2019. Until then there are plenty of Games of Thrones season 8 fan theories to dig into, because come on, do you really expect us to just sit and wait without obsessing over potential plot revelations? Be reasonable. George R.R. Martin is still working on the few final books in the series, but even after that Game of Thrones season 7 ending the only thing in the TV series … [Read more...] about 15 amazing fan theories for Game of Thrones season 8
The best collector’s edition box sets that every TV binger should own, from Game of Thrones statues to Breaking Bad cooking wear
With the likes of Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Crackle, and a cacophony of other streaming services all offering instant access to the latest shows with the press of a button, the ancient art of buying and using a box set by physically placing disc after disc into a machine sounds practically medieval at this point. But box sets aren’t quite dead yet. You can never guarantee that your favourite show will stay on Netflix for the entire time you’re watching it, for instance, but the physical disc lasts forever... unless you count its slow but inevitable degradation into a pile of dust, that is. Plus, box sets offer an opportunity for studios to get creative, packaging hours of viewing content into unique cases that range from the majestic to the downright bonkers. Some, though… some are just so crazy and ridiculous that you simply have to own them, even if it’s unlikely that you’ll ever watch them again. Here’s our pickings of the best TV box … [Read more...] about The best collector’s edition box sets that every TV binger should own, from Game of Thrones statues to Breaking Bad cooking wear
Maisie Williams lets slip that Game of Thrones season 8 returns in April 2019
UPDATE: Maisie Williams recently took to Twitter to shoot down the story about the Game of Thrones release date many outlets had run: ORIGINAL: Just another winter to get through then. Game of Thrones season 8 is out in 2019, we already knew that. What we didn’t know was exactly when we’d be seeing the final six episodes of Westeros’ finest warriors and White Walkers. You can thank Maisie Williams, however. She’s probably said a bit too much on the subject… If Arya Stark dies in the very first scene of Game of Thrones season 8 then this Metro interview might have something to do with it. In it, Williams says, “We wrap in December and we air our first episode in April [2019]. That’s a four-month turnaround for these huge episodes.” So no midsummer madness for Thrones this time around. In fact, Game of Thrones season 7 aside, the show has history when it comes to debuting in April. Every season except seasons 7 and 3 (which debuted on March … [Read more...] about Maisie Williams lets slip that Game of Thrones season 8 returns in April 2019
