We're still waiting to learn more about the PSVR PS5 version, but we just got a half dozen new games to look forward to for the one we already have. The PlayStation Blog just finished with a day-long PSVR Spotlight, showcasing six games headed to Sony's virtual reality headsets with new trailers and posts from the developers themselves. We already got a look at one of the titles with Doom 3 VR Edition coming to PSVR later this month , but here's everything Sony announced in the showcase. Doom 3: VR Edition Release date: March 29 Before we ripped and tore in the new Doom games, we RIP'ed in terror in Doom 3 - and now the horror is even more inescapable in VR. Doom 3 VR Edition is a full conversion of the original game and its two expansions to VR, making use of the Aim controller for more natural weapons handling (and yes, they do have attached flashlights now) while adding in some handy new features like 180 degree quick turns to give you slightly better … [Read more...] about PSVR showcases 6 new games with skiing action, frozen zombies, and more

Defense Grid dev working on a “AAA, third-person, open-world Dungeons & Dragons” game
Hidden Path Entertainment is working on a triple-A, third-person, open-world fantasy RPG "that will be taking place inside the Dungeons & Dragons franchise". The announcement came with little fanfare: a note on Hidden Path's website and a tweet to say the studio was hiring staff for the project. Hidden Path is hiring! We are in development on a AAA, third-person, open-world fantasy RPG that will be taking place inside the Dungeons & Dragons franchise. https://t.co/gs8ld6AJL3 — Hidden Path Ent (@HiddenPathEnt) March 2, 2021 This content is hosted on an external platform, which will only display it if you accept targeting cookies. A look at how big budget game developers outsource crunch
When Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red promised none of its employees would have to work overtime to get the game done, did this also apply to the many developers working on parts of the game at its support studios? As far as Cyberpunk is confirmed, well, that point is now all moot . But it's an interesting question, and as pretty much every big budget game employs support studios, it's a topic well worth exploring. This month, Chris Bratt (who?) does just that in the latest video from the Patreon-funded People Make Games . In it, we hear from young developers working unpaid overtime on numerous big AAA projects, in support studios based in Malaysia and Indonesia. There are tales of 70-hour weeks and employers cutting corners when it comes to overtime pay and time off in compensation for working public holidays, and of fresh graduates putting up with poor conditions for the hope of a better gig in the future. Another interesting point is that even if one outsourcing … [Read more...] about A look at how big budget game developers outsource crunch
Watch This: Call Of Duty Warzone Players Blow Up Every Vehicle At Once, Crashing The Game
A determined group of Call of Duty: Warzone players worked together and successfully broke the game by blowing up nearly every vehicle on the map with a series of cluster strikes. Streamer MarleyThirteen called upon 149 of his friends to enter a Warzone match and agree to a cease fire so they could attempt the feat. The idea was simple enough: gather every vehicle in the game, park them in close proximity, and then call in a series of cluster strikes to blow them up. As MarleyThirteen covers in the video above, this was no easy task. On one occasion, someone called in a cluster strike too early and they had to start over. The players tried again, but failed because people were too reckless in parking their vehicles at the site. The bumping and crashing of vehicles led to some of them exploding, triggering a chain reaction. On the successful attempt, everyone drove to the designated meeting place and parked in an orderly fashion to keep each vehicle intact and primed for the … [Read more...] about Watch This: Call Of Duty Warzone Players Blow Up Every Vehicle At Once, Crashing The Game
No Man’s Sky will have multiplayer crossplay when it drops on Xbox Game Pass
No Man's Sky is adding cross-platform multiplayer starting June 11, the same day the title goes live on Xbox and PC Game Pass. "Do you have a friend on another gaming system with whom you’ve always wanted to explore the great unknown? A legendary base you’ve seen videos of but never been able to visit? A mission that you think would be great to play with friends on other platforms?" blog post announcing the move. As GamesRadar previously reported , No Man's Sky (formerly a PlayStation console exclusive) is the June addition to Xbox Game Pass, which means it will be available for Windows 10 operating systems as well. With the added bonus of crossplay, players from all platforms can do some planet mining in tandem and alien riding. It's great to see how No Man's Sky has evolved as an IP since it launched in 2016. First it was just a PlayStation exclusive with a more traditional multiplayer construct. Then, it went to Xbox in 2018 and in 2019 the Beyond update … [Read more...] about No Man’s Sky will have multiplayer crossplay when it drops on Xbox Game Pass
