In this era of music streaming, artists are finding growing sales in all things retro, such as vinyl. But one German techno artist decided to pick an even more unlikely medium to release their music on in 2019: a Mega Drive cartridge.DJ Remute, from Hamburg, Germany is releasing his Technoptimistic LP on an actual cartridge that will play on an actual Mega Drive. Remute told Eurogamer the music on this cartridge was not recorded - it was programmed with the help of special software which directly addresses the soundchip of the Sega Mega Drive console itself."Every time you plug the cartridge into the console the music gets generated in real-time by the console," Remute explained. "It is the first plug and play techno album! The cartridge (which is actually a custom-built flash-chip with 4MB only!) contains a custom music player programmed by some legendary coders from the demoscene."Technoptimistic is quite literally a fully electronic album as electricity generates the music every … [Read more...] about A German techno DJ is releasing his new album on a Sega Mega Drive cartridge
Eminem new album 2017
Eminem’s new album Kamikaze is proving itself to be quite controversial for its diss lyrics aimed at a wide number of other rappers, but that’s not the only reason it’s started some arguments on the Internet. There has been some confusion about whether one of the songs on the album, “Good Guy,” samples music from Kingdom Hearts, but we now know it does not. The confusion started when one of the album’s producers, IllaDaProducer, spoke to Rolling Stone and claimed that “Good Guy” sampled a song from Kingdom Hearts. He said that he was sampling Kingdom Hearts‘ theme song, presumably “Simple and Clean,” but then later clarified that the song sampled in “Good Guy” is actually “Glassy Sky” from the anime Tokyo Ghoul.IllaDaProducer made this clarification on social media, where he explained that he did make a beat using the Kingdom Hearts theme, but that he got it … [Read more...] about Does Eminem’s Kamikaze Album Sample A Kingdom Hearts Song?
Eminem has recently released a new album – Kamikaze. After taking a break from the rap scene for most of this year, his signature no-holds-barred style is back from the brink on these new tracks, and Kamikaze is a tour de force of braggadocio. While Eminem may be well known for taking pot shots at the competition, he’s not exactly famous for being big on games. Despite that, one of the tracks on the album is an Eminem Kingdom Hearts crossover. That’s right, Eminem has confirmed in this interview with Rolling Stone that the track ‘Good Guy’ on his album samples Kingdom Hearts. When Eminem says that he’s sampled the “theme song,” he really means that he’s sampled Utada Hikaru’s ‘Simple and Clean.’ If there’s any tune that really resonates with players of Kingdom Hearts, it’s that. The song is immediately recognizable to those who hear it, and Hikaru’s voice is … [Read more...] about Eminem’s New Song is a Kingdom Hearts Crossover
Last week, Eminem surprised fans the world over with a new album, Kamikaze, his tenth studio release. What came as an even bigger surprise to fans, particularly those who enjoy the hugely popular JRPG Kingdom Hearts, was that album producer Illadaproducer sampled Simple & Clean by Utada Hikaru for the track “Good Guy”, something he confirmed in a Rolling Stone interview: “That’s me doing my video game thing. Kingdom Hearts. It’s a Japanese video game, and that’s the theme song from it. It’s one of the dopest melodies I’ve ever heard. Shout out Japanese video games and Japanimation for inspiration. Filtered it, did some chops, did some processing to it. I basically made it unrecognizable, but I know they would have still found it. That’s why we had to deal with the clearance. But when I do anything I try to make it to where it’s not fully recognizable.” It might be easily missed, however, the sample is listed on the … [Read more...] about Kingdom Hearts gets sampled in Eminem’s new album
Konami has announced a new deal which will see FC Barcelona become a ‘premium partner’ to PES 2017 for three years and, it says, hugely benefit the upcoming game as a result. Case in point: topless Neymar. The pairing will see Barca stars’ faces “and expressions” faithfully recreated in-game, right down to the Brazilian striker having the correct tattoos. But player authenticity won’t merely be visual, says Konami: “Team ID and Player ID systems [will be] used to ensure the PES side perfectly reflects the overall and individual playing styles of the Catalan side and its many stars,” it insists. It’s also bye bye to Camp Nou in FIFA 17 – PES 2017 now has exclusive rights to Barca’s stadium. Historical Barca kits are also promised, along with Barcelona legends for use in MyClub mode. (The PES equivalent of FIFA 17 Ultimate Team.) In real life, the link-up will mean PES 2017 advertising around Camp Nou, as … [Read more...] about New PES 2017 screens confirm Barcelona link-up and no Camp Nou in FIFA 17
