Today Bandai Namco hosted an event at the VR Zone Shinjuku in Kabukicho, Tokyo, to introduce the new attraction Dragon Quest VR. The game, which is based on HTC Vive technology like all the titles playable at the VR Zone Shinjuku has players work together in parties of four, each playing different classes and standing in an areameasuring 20 x 12 meters. Each character has different weapons and powers, and during a broadcast from the event, we got to see the first gameplay. It looks really fun, even if I suggest you lower the volume of the video below because there’s the usual massive amount of screaming going on. Western audiences, it would seem, are slowly becoming a less picky bunch. Square Enix has announced that beloved JRPG Dragon Quest XI will finally be releasing in the west this year. The game will launch on PlayStation 4 and Steam on September 4 and will include a full English voice-over and a bunch of new features. There’s the Draconian Quest, which serves as a hard mode in this release. Additionally, a photo mode has been added called Camera Mode, allowing players to take in views of the beautiful landscape, character renders and ferocious monsters in closer detail. Character and camera movement has been improved, with an all-new Dash function added to the gameplay. The Western release will have graphical enhancements and more streamlined menu navigation, changing up the UI to make it easier to access. The game is just as filled with content as other titles in the series, boasting over 100 hours of gameplay. Dragon Quest Builders 2 is related to Dragon Quest II Following the commercial and critical success of the first Dragon Quest Builders game, Square Enix has development under way for the sequel which will release on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. Famitsu spoke with producer Noriyoshi Fujimoto and director Kazuya Niinou about progress and new details. As one would expect, they received a lot of requests from fans including the implementation of four-player multiplayer and the ability to build up higher.
