Black History Month For Black History month, we're looking at the impact of the Black Lives Matter protests on the games industry, and following up on pledges made by publishers and developers. Following the death of George Floyd and worldwide protests in solidarity with Black people last year, the games industry's lack of diversity came under increased scrutiny. The industry is still predominantly white—Ukie, the UK's primary video games industry body, conducted a member survey in 2020 that revealed that of the 10 percent of industry workers that identify as BAME (Black, Asian and minority ethnic), only 2 percent are black. A self-reported survey conducted by the International Game Developers Association in 2019 revealed the same figure. In the summer of 2020, several companies in the games industry raised money for charities fighting racial injustice and released statements in support of Black Americans or Black people in general. Over 1,000 developers donated their … [Read more...] about Has the games industry lived up to its Black Lives Matter promises?

Right now, you can still download and play Halo Online mod ElDewrito. The updater is still available on the mod website and player-hosted servers are still online. This is the "new way to play with each other in MCC" 343 teased last week . In a post on Halo Waypoint , 343 said it plans to roll out its next public flight as early as Thursday, 18th February, and a custom game browser is on the list of included features. Here's how it looks in-game: Another interesting feature on the list is a new map for Halo 3 from Halo Online. Microsoft all but confirmed a couple of years ago that Halo 6 (or whatever it ends up being called) will be released for Windows 10 as well as Xbox, but we haven't heard anything about it since. Could that be the "classic Halo experience" Spencer is hinting at? Or is Microsoft finally getting around … [Read more...] about Microsoft blocks Halo Online mod ElDewrito, hints at ‘official’ Halo coming to PC (Updated)
