There are shooting games, and there are shooting games. Irem's 1987 R-Type can't exactly claim to be the first of its kind, and you could well argue there are more widely acclaimed shooting games, but you'd be hard pushed to find any as iconic as this stately sci-fi venture. Cold, composed and challenging, it's the archetypal 80s shooter, and a prime example of the genre in its pomp. The popularity of shooting games would wane throughout the 90s, however, and by the turn of the century those in charge of the series wondered whether it had a future at all. Fall Guys developer Mediatonic has been purchased by Epic Games, according to the Epic Newsroom announcement . The news broke Tuesday, March 2 by Bloomberg's Jason Schreier , then followed up shortly after by the official Fall Guys Twitter account and Epic Games themselves. Both companies promise that Fall Guys gameplay "isn't changing" and "Epic will continue to invest in making the game a great experience for [players across platforms." Netflix US has picked up Liam Neeson's latest movie, The Ice Road, for $18 million. The streamer beat multiple buyers with the recording-breaking domestic deal, according to Deadline . Co-starring Laurence Fishburne, the action thriller sees a remote diamond mine collapse in the far northern regions of Canada. An ice driver (Neeson) then leads an impossible rescue mission over a frozen ocean to save the lives of trapped miners despite thawing waters and a threat they never see coming. The movie was written and directed by Jonathan Hensleigh, who previously wrote movies like Die Hard With a Vengeance, Jumanji, and The Punisher, the latter of which he also directed. Karate class won't be in session on Netflix for quite a while, but there's good news for Cobra Kai fans. Filming on Season 4 of Netflix's Cobra Kai has officially begun. The streaming service announced the beginning of production by sharing a photo of the Season 4 premiere script, titled "Let's Begin." The news didn't stop there, as the streaming service also revealed some changes to the show's cast. First and foremost, Peyton List (Tory) and Vanessa Rudio (Carmen) have both been made series regulars for Season 4, after previously appearing in recurring roles.
