By Stephany Nunneley, Thursday, 11 January 2018 15:26 GMT The headline says it all, really. Nintendo announced today during its Direct presentation that eShop users can download demos for Kirby: Battle Royale and Dragon Quest Builders. Available for Switch, the demo version of Dragon Quest Builders will provide a nice introduction to the game before it releases on the system February 9. In the full game, players will need to rebuild Alefgard using various blocks, as it has been destroyed by the Dragonlord. Players will also build tools from gathered materials and construct a wide variety of structures. It was originally released on PlayStation 4 back in October 2016. Appropriately, players will also “receive ever-more extravagant requests” from the citizens wanting a place to call their own. That’s what NPCs do, ya know. Players will also battle monsters, so there’s more to it than building blocky homes, towers and castles for … [Read more...] about Demos for Dragon Quest Builders and Kirby: Battle Royale have landed on the Nintendo eShop
Anyone who has spent time in a battle royale game has found themselves in a situation where you run into a player who's managed to find a weapon before you have one yourself. You can run for it, you can try to punch them before they shoot you, or you can accept your fate and curse the loot spawn gods. Stand Out: VR Battle Royale gives you a new option: you can reach out with your virtual hands and snatch their gun away. And it's fucking hilarious. This exact scenario happened to me today when I was trying Stand Out for the first time, only I was the guy with the gun. I heard another player nearby and was searching the building for him, and found him hiding on all fours under a table. This being VR, this means he was quite literally on all fours on his real floor. Cute. I crouched down next to the table and pointed my gun at him, but before I could shoot he grabbed it out of my hands. What resulted was a ridiculous VR tussle over the gun as we both grabbed it out of each other's … [Read more...] about You can grab guns out of people’s hands in this VR battle royale game, and it’s hilarious
As Paul reported earlier this week, Nvidia's latest GPU drivers support ShadowPlay Highlights in Fortnite's Battle Royale mode. As part of its latest update v.2.1.0 update, that's live now with the full update due to drop later today. With that, expect the Cozy Campfire—a new so-called "healing trap" that persists for 25 seconds and heals two HP per second. As a blue rarity, it can be found anywhere on the map. Update v.2.1.0 also targets a number of bugs related to UI, audio and animations, while the Boogie Bomb dance effect has now been removed upon taking damage. Moreover, the weapon's rarity has been changed to blue/rare to "more accurately represent its true rarity". Full patch notes for v.2.1.0 can be found in this direction, where you'll also find details on changes to Fortnite's Save the World co-op mode. … [Read more...] about Fortnite Battle Royale update adds ‘Cozy Campfire’ healing trap, Nvidia ShadowPlay Highlights
It’s mid-week which means that Fortnite is set to launch yet another update for its Battle Royale and Save the World modes. But of course, most of the focus is on the 1 vs. 100 Battle Royale mode, which has caught fire since debuting a few weeks ago. This latest update does not offer anything too substantial compared to the holiday patch, but it does make some important changes to Fortnite BR. As far as new additions are concerned, the update will introduce the Campfire, a new healing item that is great for the Duos and Squad variants of Battle Royale. The Campfire will function like a trap, which means that players need to put it onto a pre-built floor before it can be active. Once placed, the Campfire will heal any nearby players for 25 total seconds at a rate of 2hp per second. So standing next to the Campfire for its full duration should heal a player for a total of 50 hp. What’s great about the Campfire is that it is an additional healing item that does not occupy a … [Read more...] about Fortnite Battle Royale Update Adds New Item, Fixes Major Bug
