Over at Game Informer, Nintendoof America’s Bill Trinen and localization manager Nate Bihldorff provided some more insight into Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which got an extensive showcase at E3 2018 and will be arriving later this year. In an interview with Game Informer, one of the biggest clarifications that Trinen provided was in stating that Nintendo and the game’s director, Masahiro Sakurai, consider this “a new game” in the series and not just a “definitive edition” or “port” of the series’ previous iterations. A large part of that, as Trinen explained, comes from the fact that Ultimate are the ways that it is making “core change to the core mechanics,” such as speed, movement, animation, and more, and players as a result will have to “re-learn every character” compared to previous iterations in the series. In addition to those details regarding the game’s development, … [Read more...] about Nintendo Says Super Smash Bros. Everything we know about Super Smash Bros. on Switch. Super Smash Bros. Switch is coming, and though it's not a huge surprise - every home console since the series' N64 debut has had one - there's a lot of questions left unanswered after March's Nintendo Direct teaser. Though we know who is working on it, some confirmed characters and a release window, there's a lot we're also unsure about right now. Latest update: It's almost time for E3 2018 conferences, where we'll hear plenty about Super Smash Bros on Switch. What, exactly, should we learn? Not only is it playable at E3, but it'll be part of an invitational tournament, giving us plenty of footage to mull over. The show should give us an idea of a roster and features, too, so expect this to be the biggest update on the game yet. What is Super Smash Bros. Switch, and is it an enhanced port or an entirely new game?Super Smash Bro.s Switch is all-star fighter which sees characters and worlds from practically every … [Read more...] about Super Smash Bros. Nintendo hit hard this week with a packed Nintendo Direct, but the biggest announcement that hit the hardest was the surprising reveal of what appears to be a brand new Smash Bros. game for the Nintendo Switch. Like pretty much anyone else watching the Direct, you can bet that I was HYPED for the fact that we’re getting a new Smash Bros., and my reaction to the announcement looked a lot like this: In the grand scheme of things, it was only a matter of time before we got some kind of confirmation that Super Smash Bros. would be coming to the Switch, but the fact that the announcement came from a seemingly ordinary Nintendo Direct in March (and not during the middle of E3 like many would have expected) made it that much more of a bombshell. While the teaser was brief, the fact that Super Smash Bros. is heading to Nintendo Switch — and especially that it is coming this year — should make Nintendo fans like myself very, very excited. Naturally, that … [Read more...] about Super Smash Bros. is Coming to the Switch: What Characters Can We Hope to See?
Nintendo has confirmed a new Super Smash Bros. game is coming to Switch in 2018, and judging by a teaser trailer released at the end of a Nintendo Direct, it looks like we'll have some *alert noise* NEW CHALLENGERS APPROACHING; both the Inklings from Splatoon and Link (as he appears in Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild) show up, which would be new additions to the cast. I know, I know, it could just be a reskin. After all, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS use the Twilight Princess version, and that particular version of Link is more than a decade old at this point - I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo just wanted to update his look for a ported version of what's also known as "Super Smash Bros. 4" that has just a few extra bells and whistles (kind of like the approach it took with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe). If that's the case, the Inklings are just one more little nice thing for those willing to buy what would essentially be the same game a third time. On the other hand... what if it's … [Read more...] about Super Smash Bros. is coming to Switch, and it’s bringing Inklings and BotW Link
Super Smash Bros Nintendo Switch is real and was just announced at today's Nintendo Direct. The game's official unveiling capped off a briskly paced presentation, revealing very little but teasing some of the new characters you can expect to see in Super Smash Bros Nintendo Switch. Super Smash Bros Nintendo Switch will arrive with new characters in tow, widening its already impressive roster of characters from across all of Nintendo's history and from other publishers as well. The only confirmed new fighters will be the Inklings from Splatoon 2 in some form. The Nintendo Direct ended with showing the Inkling Boy and Inkling Girl battling it out before seeing the all too familiar logo appear in the sky, revealing their part in the upcoming Super Smash Bros Nintendo Switch game. We are certain this will be the definitive version of the game released on 3DS and Wii U. At the moment, we have little other information to go on, though, other than a vague 2018 release date. We are certain … [Read more...] about Super Smash Bros Nintendo Switch is Real and Will Have New Characters
