report this adYesterday, Sony revealed it will not be attending E3 2019, which marks the first time the gaming giant has missed the event in its 24-year history. Rumors and speculation have been circulating as to why, with many thinking the PlayStation 5 may somehow be involved in its 2020 return. Still, this hasn’t prevented gaming brand Xbox from taking a lighthearted jab at its competitor. To be clear, this isn’t the first time the two companies have taken shots at each other. In fact, Xbox has previously mocked Sony for its PlayStation Classic and its now-revised Cross-Play stance. This long-running history of potshots has always been more friendly than malicious, however. With this in mind, it shouldn’t be a surprise to hear Xbox jumping on the E3 2019 bandwagon. Not long after Sony’s E3 2019 broke the news, the official Xbox Twitter account made the following tweet somewhat needlessly announcing its presence at the gaming expo: Boasting the hashtag … [Read more...] about Xbox Responds to Sony E3 2019 Announcement
Ever since Batman: Arkham Knight launched in the summer of 2015, fans of Rocksteady Studios have been waiting to see what the critically-acclaimed development team is going to do next. Rumors have been swirling for years about Rocksteady’s next project, with the latest one claiming that the mysterious game could possibly be revealed at E3 2019. The rumor stems from a post on ResetEra by Hasan Ali Almaci. Almaci is a “freelancer” who claims that Rocksteady’s next game will be announced either in early 2019 or at E3 “depending on milestones they meet.” Almaci stopped short of going into specifics about Rocksteady’s game, but did suggest that it is not a Marvel video game, so presumably it’s working on another title based on a DC Comics character.Another entry in the Batman: Arkham franchise is certainly possible, but the most persistent rumor has been that Rocksteady is working on a Superman video game instead. … [Read more...] about Rocksteady’s Next Game to Be Revealed at E3 2019?
About a month ago, the Game Critics Awards went on to dub Capcom’s forthcoming remake of the 1998 survival horror classic Resident Evil 2 the Best of Show for E3 2018 after the company officially unveiled the title to the public. While a plethora of attendees and those at home were eagerly anticipating this reveal, it seems as if Capcom was initially nervous about the fans’ reaction to what direction it was taking the project. According to Capcom’s EMEA Marketing Director, Antoine Molant, the company knew that there were huge expectations surrounding the Resident Evil 2 remake, but despite the fact that the publisher and developer “knew it looked great and would be a good game”, it was “worried that the fan base would be divided” when it comes to the changes that had been made. After the reveal, Molant explained that even though “there might have been some initial dissenting voices,” Capcom was surely pleased that “the … [Read more...] about Capcom Was Worried About Resident Evil 2 Remake’s Reveal

Now, the E3 Game Critics Award Nominees list has been revealed, but interestingly enough, it does not feature what was arguably the most talked about game during this year’s expo. Today, the 51 judging publications for the Game Critics Awards: Best of E3 2018 announced this year’s nominees, which is comprised of 56 products, with winners to be announced on Monday, July 2. However, nowhere to be found on the list is CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077, with the title having been left off due to a technicality.
