Ed Masley Arizona Republic Published 7:15 p.m. UTC Aug 28, 2018 Innings Festival returns to Tempe Beach and Tempe Arts Park for its second year during the weekend of March 2-3. The two-day festival is produced by C3 Presents, the team behind Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits Music Festival, as well as the Music City Food + Wine Festival and the Austin Food + Wine Festival. The lineup and on-sale information is expected soon. The festival’s inaugural year was three days with headlining concerts by Queens of the Stone Age, the Avett Brothers and Chris Stapleton. It also featured culinary demos with top chefs as well as curated food vendors, family activities and appearances by professional baseball players. Innings Festival is aimed at a cross section of music lovers and baseball fans and ties in with spring training season. This time out, it’s going head-to-head with a Valley tradition, the McDowell Mountain Music Festival, which runs from March 1-3 with all proceeds benefiting charity.
